Overview
Commonly known as the rotary kiln, the rotary calcining kiln is also called the rotary dryer, belonging to construction equipment. Depending on the materials, the rotary kiln falls into three types: the metallurgy kiln, the lime kiln and the cement kiln.
Features
The lime rotary kiln, also called rotary drum, has extremely advanced structure-the reliable combined type scale sealing at the two ends, which ensures air leakage rate being less than 10%. The composite refractory material reduces radiation heat loss to a great amount.
The low resistance vertical preheater effectively enhances preheating efficiency. The resolution ratio of preheated lime can reach as high as 20-25% and limestone with granularity of 10-15mm can be utilized directly.
The filling type partitionable ventilated circular or quadrate shaft cooler keeps the lime coming out of the cooler at a temperature of 800 degrees Celsius more than the environment temperature which makes for conveying and storage. In addition, the secondary air can be heated to 7000 degrees Celsius, therefore, energy is greatly saved.
The Lime kiln (i.e. the active lime kiln) is used for roasting active lime in steel works and ferroalloy plants and light roasting dolomite.
Working Principle of the Lime Rotary Kiln
The materials to be burnt get into the stove from the higher end of the cylinder. Due to the slope and slow rotation of the cylinder, the materials move around and move from top to bottom along the axis to finish its process. At last, the finished materials get into the cooler through the burner hood. The fuel gets into the kiln through the head of the kiln. The waste gas will be discharged from the end of the kiln after exchanging heat with the materials.
